While Research in Motion (RIM) started distributing samples of the 7-in BlackBerry PlayBook, more and more specifications of the BlackBerry PlayBook are available now.
The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet PC has 7-inch LCD display with 1024 x 600 resolution, which is the medium size between 9.7-inch Apple iPad and 5-inch Dell Streak. The 1GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM make the multitask processing easy to use.
It is said that the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet PC will be available in the first quarter of 2011, and the global launch is scheduled in the second quarter.
Blackberry PlayBook is enabled with Adobe Flash 10.1 and there is built-in support for web standards like HTML 5, making the web browsing like a PC. After testing the RIM BlackBerry PlayBook, the Los Angeles analyst, Paul Mueller, confirmed saying it plays Flash videos and runs more fluid than Samsung Galaxy Tab. Jim Balsillie, the businessman and co-CEO of Research in Motion (RIM) confirmed that there will be three models of Blackberry PlayBook in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Apple iPad also provides 3 options with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
BlackBerry PlayBook tablet will be sold under US$500, but not specific price yet. The prices for iPad range from $499 to $829. While there are three models of BlackBerry PlayBook, the price for each model may go similar to iPad.

Since BlackBerry PlayBook run with BlackBerry Tablet OS, which is powered by QNX technology with support to Open GL, BlackBerry 6m WebKit, Adobe Flash, Java and Adobe Mobile AIR, SMP. The Universal Mind Inc. announced that they had built a Fantasy Football application for the upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook. And the company confirmed that it is easy to create application with Adobe Flash Builder and the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK.
BlackBerry PlayBook supports video with up to 1080p HD resolution. While playing on tablet, the 1080p video will be scaled down to screen's lower native resolution, and you can also play 1080p video with micro-HDMI port. the formats with H.264 and MPEG4 codec, and WMV. As there is no detailed format list, the supported file extension could be .mp4, .wmv, .mov, as most popular formats.
