I have a Canon HF S10 camcorder which generates AVCHD MTS files and the latest version of Windows Media Player (Vista), but I still can't read MTS files in WMP. I searched on the internet trying to find a way to make my WMP have a smooth playback of my MTS files. Someone out there suggested installing K-Lite codec pact to Windows Media Player which I did, but there is still some problem. The audio is not synced with video totally and after a few seconds (about 20-25 seconds) playback, the audio is completely distorted!
I simply gave up of all the free stuff from Google search. In the end, I turn to an affordable AVCHD MTS/M2TS Converter from Aunsoft Studio. Lucky for me. The program turns out to be a solid and flexible MTS converter with excellent output quality for my WMP. More than that, it's also a great MTS/M2TS joiner with function of deinterlacing AVCHD files. How can I expect that? I'm so happy that I made the decision to purchase the software. Now I don't have to worry about playing back my AVCHD MTS.M2TS files on WMP any more! Actually, with Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter, I can convert MTS files to any other video or audio format I want!

Simply drag and drop them to the converter. This is how the program looks like.

Editing functions are available in Aunsoft MTS Converter by clicking "Editor" button in the menu bar for you to trim, crop, add text/image/video watermarks and deinterlace your AVCHD MTS/M2TS files. You can tick the checkbox of "Apply to all" to apply your present settings to all your AVCHD files.

In this step, you are allowed to choose preferred video format for Windows Media Player. As you can see from the screenshot below, there are multiple video options in "Common Video" catalogue from "Format" drop-down menu that supported by Windows Media Player. You can choose MP4, AVI or WMV for output format. For my case, I simply choose WMV2 (WMV8) (*.wmv) format.
