Sony HDR-SR12 records videos in AVCHD format, and Nero 8 is my preferred editing software. I recorded some races and sports using a Sony Handycam HDR-SR12, and I would like to join AVCHD files together before importing to Nero 8.
While looking for a tool to merge AVCHD video clips without conversion, I find Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter is currently the best choice for me to get videos and audios in perfect synchronization. Here I would like to show you my experience with the AVCHD joiner.
Step 1. Load AVCHD files to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter.
Run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter as the best AVCHD combiner, and click the "Add" button to load multiple .m2ts files. You may also drag and drop the AVCHD video clips to program UI.
Step 2. Choose HD MPEG-2 format.
Click the "Format" option and choose HD Video > MPEG-2 HD Video(*.mpg) as output format. The Sony HDR-SR12 to Nero converter will transcode H.264 .m2ts to MPEG-2 .mpgfor Nero 8 with 1920x1080.
Step 3. Join M2TS files.
Check the box for "Merge into one file" next to the format option, the Sony HDR-SR12 AVCHD joiner will combine the videos clip and output a single file.
Step 4. Merge Sony HDR-SR12 videos into one.
Click the start button under the preview window, and the M2TS joiner will convert Sony HDR-SR12 AVCHD clips to MPG for Nero 8.
When the conversion is done, it is easy to edit Sony HDR-SR12 videos in Nero 8. It seems that Aunsoft will release the new software in December 2010 for merging AVCHD files without recompression. It will be a good choice for me then.
